Hoodia is a natural appetite suppressant, which is gaining attention as a powerful weapon in the struggle against weight loss and obesity. Hoodia was introduced in the market very recently in year 2004.

Here are some facts about Hoodia that one should know:

o Hoodia gordonii resembles a cactus, but actually it is a succulent from Kalahari Desert of southern Africa.

To feel the full effect of Hoodia it usually takes 4 days to 2 weeks, with each day working a little better than the day before.

o Hoodia Gordonii has no known side effects. This means no racing heart, no nausea, no shakes or keeping awake at night. Actually you can use Hoodia right before bedtime.

o For thousands of years, the San people used Hoodia to fight hunger and thirst during their long journeys in the desert of Kalahari.

How Does Hoodia Work?

Hoodia Gordonii contains a magic molecule called as P57, which act on nerve cells like glucose molecule and make the brain feel full. A clinical research performed in Britain showed that Hoodia Gordonii could reduce appetite by more than one thousand calories a day. That is approximately 1/3 of the average American diet.

Does Hoodia Have Any Known Side Effects?

So far there have been no known negative side effects found in Hoodia use. There are however, several positive side effects such as:

o Feeling full more quickly.

o Most Hoodia users ate 1,000 calories less per day.

o A delay in the time after eating before hunger sets in again.

o General feeling of well being. This is actually a unique side effect for a product sold for weight loss. Many overweight people have a tendency to be emotional eaters. Emotional eaters will eat the most when slightly or highly depressed. With Hoodia’s effect of giving you a sense of wellbeing there is a natural tendency to eat less. This can be a significant plus for a good portion of the population!

o Reduced interest in food.
