The Atkins diet is a very popular diet nowadays even though it was invented around 40 years ago. However, is it really as good as it’s cut out to be? I read an article about the diet that was saying how wonderful it is and how you can lose weight healthily and easily. However, to tell you the truth this is not the case at all. The Atkins diet is very un-healthy for you and potentially dangerous to your body. I’m going to tell you all about the Atkins diet and why it’s not for you or for anyone.
The basic principle that the Atkins diet revolves around is that by eating only meat and fat your body feels full quicker, causing you to eat less calories than if you ate other foods. So basically it’s a diet where you only eat meat. Now, do I really have to tell you what is wrong with that or can you figure it out by yourself?
Our bodies are not like motor vehicles that just need fuel to go. We need more than just protein and fat for our bodies to run healthily. These are things like various types of vitamins, sugars, carbohydrates and hundreds of other things that are good for our bodies; otherwise they will not function properly. The Atkins diet takes away all of these things so that we are running like a leaded car filled with unleaded petrol
You may not notice it, while carrying out the Atkins diet, but while you are losing weight your arteries will be gaining weight and they will probably get clogged up with fat like the oilrigs in the Middle East. What is the point of losing weight if you are going to die young from a heart attack? There is no sense to it. It is a ridiculous diet that people sometimes get hyped up about.
Not to mention that the Atkins diet was created in the 70’s and has since been scientifically proven to be un-healthy for the human body. However, many people somehow manage to believe that it is still good for you.
Now I’m not saying that you must not eat meat. I’m saying you need a balance of all kinds of foods. Your diet needs to be well balanced so that you can get all of the nutrition that you need. Be very careful of the Atkins diet. It’s a weighing scale that has tipped over all the way to one side.
In the end the Atkins diet will help you lose weight. However, is it worth the sacrifice of a healthy body and possibly a heart attack?
