HCG Diet Drops

In the HCG diet calorie intake is reduced to about 500 calories per day. By comparison, a healthy adult needs about 1800-2000 calories per day.  HCG stands for Human Corionic Gonadotropin and which is produced during pregnancy. The HCG diet is also quite expensive.

Our conclusion: Physicians assess the extremely low calorie intake during the HCG diet as harmful. An adequate supply of vitamins and nutrients can not be guaranteed.

Atkins Diet

For breakfast, scrambled eggs or an omelet. For lunch, a salad with grilled chicken breast and for dinner maybe a piece of fish with some salad. The Atkins diet is the low carb diet and the absolute carbohydrate intake is reduced to a minimum. Permits are only low-carbohydrate vegetables such as lettuce.

Instead of carbohydrates, proteins and fats may be eaten in abundance. Say, meat, eggs, fish, cheese, butter and oils.

Our conclusion: Losing weight is possible with the Atkins diet, but nutritionists agree that it is harmful for several reasons. First, the high intake of animal fat is bad for cholesterol levels. The other is too much protein is bad for the kidneys and the adequate intake of vitamins and minerals can not be guaranteed.

Dukan diet

The Dukan diet is one of the very high-protein weight-loss forms, but it is not as strict as the Atkins diet. It is based on four phases that build upon each other and take different lengths depending on the target weight. In phase one, only protein-rich foods are allowed. It lasts up to ten days. In phase two you alternate pure protein-rich days with days on which vegetables are allowed. Have you reached your goal weight, then begins phase three, where you stabilize your weight. Little by little, you add more and more carbohydrate-rich foods. In phase four, you eat normally again.

Our conclusion: Keep your hands off of this type of diet as it can be harmful. In particular, people with kidney or liver disease should especially keep their hands off this diet.

Detox Fasting

Get rid of harmful waste products and be more energetic! This is what the detox fasting promises. To do this, you need fast for several days, or even weeks and only drink water or vegetable juice.  By not eating, you obviously lose weight, but you also lack important vitamins, minerals, fats and proteins.

Our Conclusion: In healthy people,doing this for a few days is okay. It gets dangerous if you diet this way for several weeks. Another thing is that once you finished the diet, you will start eating the same way as before and gain back the lost kilos.

Crash diets

Cabbage soup, pineapple or maybe the apple cider vinegar diet? There are a lot of flash diets that are made over a period of one to two weeks and promise a very high weight loss.

Lightning diets usually put the emphasis on food, such as pineapple in the pineapple diet. During the diet, all you eat is pretty much pineapple. Many other foods are forbidden and there are often specific food suggestions and recipes, which must be met in order to lose weight.

Our conclusion: It is very monotone and you will start hating it after just a few days. You will lack important fats, proteins and carbohydrates, which is why you shouldn’t follow this diet.

In conclusion, you can see that these 5 types of diets might help you lose weight, but they are also harmful to your health. Try and adjust your diet and start to eat healthy. This way you stay healthy and you will also successfully lose weight!
