Have you tried different diets and they just don’t seem to help? Or have you gone on a diet, and lose interest because you aren’t losing weight fast enough to please you? First of all, good diets are designed to lose weight a little at a time. Lose the weight fast and you will not only make yourself feel ill but you will lose interest in the diet and end up putting the weight back on plus some extra pounds. And those diets that you have to count calories and buy special foods for, boring. I go on a diet to lose weight not to sit around and calculate all the calories, and run to the store and buy all the foods that I normally don’t buy, which can really run you in to some money.
I have been on the South Beach diet. This diet is a not one of those low carb, and low fat diets. This diet is based on eating the right carbs and the right fats.
I have been on many diets and find that the South Beach diet is the best yet. Not only have I tried it and like it, but my husband is on it too and he loves it. He wasn’t one to diet. The only diet we could stick to was the see food diet, see food and eat it. This diet is a three phase diet. I only made it to the second phase. Not because I quit the diet, but because I like the first two phases. The first phase you cut out certain foods for two weeks. Bread, potatoes, anything made with white flour, etc. After a few days of not having the foods on the avoid list, I didn’t miss them, except my fruit. I love fruit. After two weeks you can introduce some of the foods back into your diet.
When I first read the book, I thought it would be tuff living without some of the don’t eat foods, but like I said, three or four days without them, I didn’t miss them at all. I checked out the list of foods you could eat and only bought the ones I like, and made sure I got rid of the food in my frig,, freezer, and cupboards so I wouldn’t be tempted. Of course my daughter loved that. It was like taking a large grocery order to her, when I went to visit. Next, I went grocery shopping and only bought the food on the list that I like.
You are suppose to eat three meals a day and a snack between meals. The snack keeps your metabolism going. The best snack for me is a cheese stick, or a hard boiled egg. At first I had to force myself to eat that snack, because I wasn’t hungry between meals. Then it got to the point I wasn’t hungry when meal time came around. I started to eat a lot of salads. I love my salad and would make them with different ingredients. Always lettuce, and tomato, some days I would make a chicken breast and some days it would be cubed pieces of ham, some cubed cheese, hard boiled egg and olives. Every day I would take a salad in my lunch, so I got in the habit of making a couple chicken breast at a time, and get ham and cut it all up in cubes, also cut up a block of cheese. After I had it cubed, I would put them in the little snack baggies and throw them in the freezer. Every day I would take out a cheese and one of either chicken or ham and throw it in my lunch pail. By lunch time it would be thawed out and still cool.
I found that the little snack baggies is just big enough for all the extra’s in your salad. I cut everything up and put in those baggies and haul them to work, except my lettuce. The lettuce is in a large enough container that I have room to add all the extras. With this diet I have lost 25 pounds in no time, but I didn’t lose it fast. I am saying in no time which is about two months.
With this diet you can eat all kinds of meat and veggies. There is a very large verity of food. The only thing I really missed was my fruit in the first two weeks. Oh and if you love bananas, forget them. You can’t have them. Even though they are good for you, they contain a lot of sugar and sugar is fat.
Did you know that when you have something that is sweet, it makes you crave food all day even though you aren’t hungry. Yes it is true. I don’t eat sweets because of that reason. Now to eat something that is sweet, turns my stomach. I get a sick feeling.
