How Often Should You Do Push Ups?

Most of the national population has heard of a push up and has attempted to do at least a few in their lifetime I would suppose. So we need to answer can they be done on a daily basis and why?

Yes! They should be done on a daily basis, it will increase your bench press by a good amount just within one month if you can stay strong and do them everyday. I do about 200 everyday, broken up into sets of 20 throughout my day. It makes it much easier if you break them up throughout the day and a set of 20 push ups take approximately 30 secs. I’m not a math whiz, but if my math is correct 30 secs x 10 sets of 20 = 5 mins a day to do 200 push ups and that is going to give you a much stronger chest and shoulders as well as a much more defined look. I personally did them and increased my bench by 30 lbs in one month! Make sure you mix up your positions and if possible you should invest in push up bars. They give you more range of motion so you can go into a deeper press. I think they range from 10-15 bucks at your local sporting goods store or you can find them for half that online.

Real quick, you shouldn’t make excuses not to do at least 200 on a daily basis. I don’t care if you have to go to the bathroom at work and do them. A set of 20 push ups takes much less time then going to the bathroom so you figure out how to get it done, just get it done. You will be thankful that you took those 5 mins out of your day when you see the results you will be getting in the end.
