Jing-Qi-Shen is based on ancient Chinese, Tibetan, and Ayurvedic practices which aim to balance the body’s energy centers by use of specific hands-on healing and “energy medicine” techniques. The healing art as taught to Chodak by her teacher, Chetsang Xian, a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, was known simply as “Qi Hand, Qi Breath” and is often thought to be the forerunner of Reiki.
Jing-Qi-Shen is named after the San Bao, or Three Treasures, common in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The English translation would be Essence-Energy-Spirit. After streamlining and updating the healing art, it was renamed Jing-Qi-Shen, which Chodak believes more adequately describes its essential nature. With step-by-step instructions, exercises, line drawings, and treatment protocols for over 50 common ailments, The Universal Healing Art of JING-QI-SHEN is a complete guide to healing which provides the reader with everything needed to help themselves and others towards health and wholeness.
