First consider your clothing when doing aerobic exercise. It is necessary to wear appropriate shoes since you may be running, walking, jumping, dancing or making other strenuous movements. Be sure your shoes are not overly worn out and that the laces are the correct size and stay tied. The clothes you wear during a work out can also make a difference. Clothing that is appropriate to the weather and will breath is important. Stay away from clothing that is tight and restricts your movements. You should be able to move freely.

When you work out make sure the area you use is safe. Try to avoid busy streets if your aerobic exercise is running or fitness walking. If you work out at home then make sure the space you use is large enough that you can move around without bumping into things. Make sure your space is not cluttered to avoid trips and falls. If you use machines or other exercise equipment make sure to keep them maintained and clean so they will work properly and safely.

Always keep in mind your level of fitness when doing your workouts. Do not push yourself too hard. Find just the right intensity for your work outs so that you get maximum benefit and avoid injury. Keep yourself well hydrated before and during aerobic exercise.
