Doing Tricks on Your Trampoline

Everyone knows that you can’t do tricks on a mini-trampoline, because there’s just no space on it for anything but your feet, and it’s great for bouncing and exercise. However, if you want to do more than just jump, you’re going to need a larger trampoline. The shape will also make a difference in what you can do. Although there are a number of different shapes available, a rectangular one is probably the best choice for tricks, because it gives you the most space to both go up and come down.

You’ll find that there are a lot of different tricks you can learn to do on a rectangular trampoline. It’s only a matter of moving your body in different ways while you’re jumping. The repetitive motion of jumping on the trampoline will enlarge muscles you didn’t even know you had, so you’ll be capable of doing more than you ever thought you could do. By practicing some tricks, you’ll be able to put on a show for friends and family that will knock their socks off.

The Kinds of Tricks You Can Do

The first thing you need to do on your trampoline is to get proficient at both jumping and landing. Then you can start out with simple ways of landing differently, such as on your knees and your seat, and then rebounding to a standing position again. When you’re ready you can practice falling to your front, back, or side and then regaining jumping position again.

The most difficult tricks you can learn to do are various types of flips. As long as you’ve learned to jump very high, you’ll be able to start doing front and back flips. You can then work up to doing a number of different moves in succession. Never practice your flips, however, without a spotter, because they can be dangerous if practiced incorrectly.

A rectangular trampoline is nothing your children should use by themselves. Even with supervision, the child should be at least six or seven before they’re allowed to use it at all. Prior to letting your child jump, you need to teach him the proper ways of using the trampoline, including the safety measures he must follow. He should never allow friends to use the trampoline, either, unless you’ve gotten permission from their parents and have taught them all the rules, too.

Once everyone in the family has been trained to use your rectangular trampoline, it can be a great activity for the whole family to do together. It’s an excellent way for everyone to keep in shape as well as to build family relationships doing something everyone enjoys. Your family’s health is important, and this will provide a means for keeping everyone strong and healthy.

The Priority is Safety

As with any sport, safety has got to be top priority. Read the safety instructions that came with your trampoline carefully and make sure that every member of your family both knows and understands them. Once the issue of safety is engrained into everyone’s mind, it’s time to all go out and have a great time.
